DivSprout does not collect any personally identifiable information. The app works completely offline and all investment data you enter (initial investment, dividend yield, etc.) stays on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
2. Local Data Storage (SharedPreferences)
DivSprout uses Android's SharedPreferences to store your app settings and saved data locally on your device. This includes:
- Saved investment scenarios (name, parameters, results)
- FIRE goal settings
- Custom milestone configurations
- Calculator input preferences
This data is stored entirely on your device, is not encrypted, and is never transmitted to any server. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted. No cloud backup or sync is performed.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
DivSprout displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, including both banner ads and rewarded video ads. Google AdMob may collect and use certain data to show relevant ads. This includes:
- Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
- IP address and approximate location
- Device type, operating system, and language
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
Rewarded Ads
DivSprout uses rewarded video ads to unlock additional scenario save slots. Watching a rewarded ad is optional and user-initiated. The ad content and data collection associated with rewarded ads are managed entirely by Google AdMob.

4. User Consent (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), including Slovakia and the Czech Republic, you will be asked to provide consent for personalized advertising when you first launch the app. You can manage your advertising preferences at any time through your device settings.
To opt out of personalized ads on Android:
- Go to Settings → Google → Ads
- Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
5. External Links
DivSprout contains a link to our website (divsprout.com) for educational articles and tips about dividend investing. When you tap this link, you will be taken to an external website. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit. DivSprout does not share any personal data when opening this link.
6. Data Storage
DivSprout does not maintain any databases or servers. No investment data, personal information, or usage statistics are stored outside of your device. The app does not require any account registration or login. All user data (scenarios, milestones, FIRE goals) is stored locally using Android SharedPreferences.
7. Children's Privacy
DivSprout is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.
8. Third-Party Services
DivSprout uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — for displaying banner advertisements and rewarded video ads. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play In-App Review API — for requesting app ratings. No personal data is collected by this feature.
